The school has a wide range of policies and procedures which govern it’s safe and compliant operation. These are drawn from guidance and good practice established across the UK and reviewed on a periodic basis by the school and approved by the Board of Governors. Some policies are statutory i.e. required by law and others are determined by the school. Below are some of our most important policies for your reference. If you want to know our policy on something that is not listed, please ask the school office.

Statement of Intent

It is the school’s intention to be wholly inclusive and supportive of all children irrespective of any special educational need, disability (SEND) or disadvantage, to ensure that every child makes progress in their learning towards realising their potential. We will endeavour to do our best, and to make all reasonable adjustments within our power, to meet each child’s personal learning needs and to ensure that children with SEND or disadvantage make progress in their learning in line with those without.

Sissinghurst VA Church of England Primary School is a community and all those directly connected (staff, governors, parents, families and pupils) have an essential role to play in making it safe and secure. Sissinghurst VA Church of England Primary School recognises our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.

Sissinghurst VA Church of England Primary School recognises the importance of providing an ethos and environment within school that will help children to feel safe, secure and respected; encourage them to talk openly; and enable them to feel confident that they will be listened to. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.
