Welcome to the Sissinghurst CE Primary School website. We are a flourishing Church of England school set at the heart of a beautiful Kent Village. As you arrive at our school, we hope that you will feel the sense of community and joyfulness which is created by our wonderful staff team and fantastic children. We are blessed with a vibrant school community including: staff passionate about providing the best primary education for all pupils; supportive parents and our FOSS (Friends of Sissinghurst School) as well as children who are keen to learn and who embody our school Christian values of wisdom, friendship, compassion and koinonia. Together with our excellent team of teachers and teaching assistants, we have a very effective Governing Body which makes education here a really enjoyable experience where every child’s potential is valued and cherished.
We have thought about the skills we want our children to develop in preparation for their future lives and have tailored our curriculum to achieve this aim.
Sissinghurst is a happy, caring and friendly place where children learn to:
Think critically and creatively, be able to solve problems and have the ability to adapt to an ever changing global environment. Have developed an independent enquiring mind; the ability to question, discuss and argue rationally; to make informed decisions and to apply themselves effectively to tasks. Have developed personal moral values and understand and respect the multi-cultural society in which we live. Value education for its own sake and will have acquired the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to enable them to continue with their education as a lifelong process.
We would encourage you to visit and look around. The office staff would be only too pleased to arrange an appointment so that you can see our school in action.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sissinghurst soon.
Mrs Joanna Langton
We are so sorry that we will not be able to show you around our lovely school as we would like to. In normal circumstances our Year 6 children take prospective parents on guided tours and share their stories of what it is like to be a child at Sissinghurst Primary. To try and recreate this for you we have made a virtual tour led by our Head Girl and Head Boy. We hope you will enjoy this glimpse into our school.
At Sissinghurst Primary we strongly believe in community: our own school community but also the part we as a school play in the wider, local community. There are many mutual benefits of working with these groups and the opportunities it can provide for the children.
