Leopards

Year 5/6: for children aged 9-11

Welcome to Leopards Class, taught by Mrs Desai!

In Leopard Class we work hard on building resilient, independent and active learners who take pride in their work and own learning journey. The children are challenged to achieve their very best but also to have fun along the way. There is a focus on well-being especially in relation to the transition to secondary school.

Highlights of the year include looking after a key stage one buddy, a week long residential trip and taking part in a summer term play.

The Year 6 children are also given roles of responsibility and are expected to carry out their duties seriously ensuring they are excellent role models for the rest of the school.

Along with the rest of KS2, Leopard class enjoy themed topics set each term that also inform our planning across other subjects. Each topic has a ‘stunning start’, ‘marvellous middle’ and ‘fabulous finish’ – planned activities such as art, cookery and role-play that bring the subject to life for the children. Our current topic is Wold War Two.
